Darbaar Sahib (Golden Temple),Amritsar,Punjab,India
This is a picture taken from directly above these camels in the desert at sunset. It is considered to be one of the best pictures of the year. When you look closely, you can see that the camels are the little white lines in the picture.
The black images you see are just the shadows!

Rain Fall In Bangalore(India) As Seen From Nandi Hills

The day niagara froze ,1911

This was how the Taj Mahal was protected from bomber jets in 1942 during world war.
It was covered with huge scaffold, to make it look like a stockpile of bamboo and misguide bombers.
I think the covering is still incomplete in this photo. It seems the whole of Taj Mahal was covered but this picture shows only the main dome covered. Maybe the govt didnt allow any photographers later to shoot the final scaffold cover.

During the India-Pakistan war in 1971, it was protected by covering it with a green cloth and making it almost invisible i.e camouflaged within the greenery around it.
Even in 2001, after the Sep 11 attack, Archaeological Survey of India took up the precautionary measure to cover it with cloth and it took them more than 20 days to do that!!

A Highway through a Building !!!!
Gate Tower Building is a 16-story office building in, Osaka, Japan. And what makes it notable is the highway that passes through the 5th-7th floors of this building.

This is also taken from world's tallest building 'Burj Dubai'

The persons who are working on the upper most Girders can see the 'ROTATION OF EARTH'

1043.54914 weeks Old

The great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do. —-Walter Bagehot

 This is what I am determined to live my life by in the 20th year.
I am 20 today.
Oh its 2011 special year that ended my teenage.
One thing I see on birthdays is so many notifications blowing up on  Facebook account
No matter that only about 20% of these notifications are from people who actually know my birthday – I appreciate it anyways!
Honestly, let’s take a second to think about how much Facebook has changed “the birthday.” Because of Facebook birthday reminders, people are now able to pretend that they actually care about other human beings.Ask yourself: How many friend's birthdays do you know, as in know for real? Three? Four?
Today marks the day that I first drew breath in this beautiful, awful, wonderful and messed-up world.
Everything I have, God has given to me, and everything that I have lost, God has taken from me - all according to his will, and I thank him for both.

Every opportunity I have, every person in my life, every skill or talent I have is from God. I want to thank him from bottom of my heart.I thank God for the friends and people that he's brought into my life. I ask God for wisdom and tactfulness in dealing with the people in my life that I may not exactly enjoy being around. But God has given them to me, He has put them in my life, and that in itself is enough for me to see that there is a reason. There may not be many things that I am exceptionally talented in, but nonetheless I still love to do. God has given me the ability to do these things, and I will use them to give back to Him what I can.
But I will not only rejoice in the things that God has given to me, I will also praise Him for the things that He has taken.
It seems to me that God does not take away without giving something back.

Please God Bless me and help me to accept everything you do in my life.

Dussehra : Symbolizing the victory of good over evil

The month of September/October holds significant importance in Indian culture as almost all major festivals like Deepawali (festival of lights),Dussehra,navrartis and many more are observed in this period.So any one who wants to visit India this is the best time.
During this in north India navrartis’ are celebrated with great fervor.
In the east it’s the Durga Puja and how i can forget the dandiya and garba dance associated with the festivities in west.

Well, this time i am  focusing on the other aspect of this period which is mostly prevalent in northern India - Dussehra that is staging of Ramlila’s(Rama's play).Rama is considered to be the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu.Vishnu  is  the Supreme god according to hinduism . Well it’s hard to say that how and when the staging of Ramlila started but according to popular belief it was started to preserve the Indian cutlture and moral values.

The staging of the Ramalila  is based on the Ramacharitmanas (Ramayana). The Ramayana is one of the two great epics of India, the other being the Mahabharata. Ramlila, meaning “Rama’s play”, is a performance of the epic Ramayana in the form of a series of scenes that include song, narration and dialogue. The most representative Ramlila's is of Ayodhya (Birth place of Lord Ram).
Ramlila(Rama's play) at Ramlila Ground-Delhi

Ramlila

On the tenth day of the play(Dussehra), the image of Ravana
is burned, symbolizing the victory of good over evil.(Ravana was a king of ancient Lanka and the primary bad person in the Ramayana. Ravana kidnaps Rama's wife Sita, to claim revenge on Rama and his brother Lakshmana for having cut off the nose of his sister Surpanakha{ because she attacked to kill Sita}). The Ramlila brings the whole population together, without distinction of caste, religion or age.People celebrate Dussehra with Ramlila mela(play and fair). During Ramlila, the scenes from Lord Rama's life are depicted, where they especially show the reunion of Ram and his brother Bharat, and the destruction of the demon Ravana.
Effgies(Images) of   ,Kumbhkaran, Ravan  and son Meghanath burning
Website for this image connect.in.com
Some more picture of fair and Rama's Play

 In the capital city of Delhi Ramlila is staged  in almost all corners of the city. But the most famous Ramlila’s of the capital are those staged by the Shree Ramlila Committee at Ramlila ground and many  personalities including  prime ministers visit to watch the play and is believed to be the oldest running Ramlila of Delhi. Other important Ramlilas are the once staged by the Luv Kush committee at red fort grounds and Dharmik Leela Committee, which stages Ramlila at Subhash Maidan opposite Red Fort.

 In Delhi and other neighboring states, huge effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhkaran and son Meghanath are burnt in Ramlila mela which is organized by different communities.

Dussehra is a very important festival of the Hindus celebrated all over India especially in North India with loads of fun and zest.

Happy Deepawali and Dusshera to all my readers.

The International Day of Non-Violence

Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed.   Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.
                                                                                        Mohandas Gandhi
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

The International Day of Non-Violence is observed on 2 October , the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
October 2 let us re-interpret Gandhian thought of non-violence to make it relevant for all times to come by paying our tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birthday. One message from Gandhi comes in my mind which our economy teacher repeats in our class every weak that " we possesses enough to satisfy our needs and not our greed"  is relevant in all aspects of global economic crisis which is the consequence of greed as admitted by U.S. President Obama. Richness does not mean more wealth. It does not mean more saving but it means we need no more.

Gandhi showed it to world that non-violence could work. I also want to share one lovely poem in Hindi on a great legend also known as the Father of Nation.

With the widespread violence and corruption in various parts of the world, it's up to us  that we only keep the portrait of MAHATMA GANDHI on our wall and his statue on roads or we should walk in the footsteps of M.K Gandhi.

INR 32: Life of an Indian?

s.

 INR 32: Life of an Indian?
s.
Poverty is the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or money.The supply of basic needs can be restricted by constraints on government services such as corruption.
s.
s.
Poor? Not if you spend more than 32 INR: Planning Commission.The Planning Commission seem to have redefined the term 'poor' in India. Hats off to planning commission of India- No Poor, No Poverty. No Problem,Simple solution.

I think it is possible to spend just Rs 32 a day and not starve. And that Place is only in DREAMS of poor person.The wise men and women of the Planning Commission had told the Supreme Court that that anybody who spends Rs 33 or more a day in cities is not poor and hence not eligible for a Below Povert Line (BPL) card, which lets the poor avail services like medical care for free.

Planning commission told the supreme court that the below poverty line for the country could be placed at 32 Rs per day.This is what they see all day in there canteen where they can buy any food item for less than 5 Rs. But the poor of India don' get the subsidized canteen or shop.This Data is too irrational, ridiculous and outrageous. Statistics is necessary for the planning and policy formulation. This is mockery of poverty.If we go with this data, even the beggars are not entitled to get Below Poverty Line Card. Lets give a member of Planning Commission 32 Rs then see what they can do.

 India is really one of the wealthiest country. But the policy and economy system of  the country needs major changes.We need a poverty line. But a fair and true data so that we can compare the data with previous year results and to allocate resources among'st  different states.Planning commission should identify the rich not the poor.Government don't have a food factory. They should support the poor farmers. Many of the Indian populations is still engaged in Agriculture. Government of India should take necessary steps to make Agriculture a profitable enterprise.

 Relying on the Poverty estimates of the planning commission will not resolve the problem in any manner. There is utter confusion on this subject. Planning Commission should file a fresh affidavit which should look practical.
That' all for now. Please leave your valuable feedback and suggestions.

JOKES

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother,

'Why is the bride dressed in white?''

The mother replied, 'because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life.'

The child thought about this for a moment then said, 'So why is the groom wearing black?'

~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, 'Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!'
While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress.
She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again!
As she ran she once again began to pray, 'Dear Lord, please don't let me be late...But please don't shove me either!'
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, 'My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him

$50..'

The second boy says,

'That's nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100.'

The third boy says, 'I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!'

~~~~~~~~~~~~
An elderly woman died last month. Having never married , she requested no male pallbearers. In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service, she wrote, 'They wouldn't take me out while I was alive, I don't want them to take me out when I'm dead.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~

A police recruit was asked during the exam, 'What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?'

He answered, 'Call for backup.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Sunday School teacher asked her class why Joseph and Mary took Jesus with them to Jerusalem.
A small child replied, 'They couldn't get a baby-sitter. '
~~~~~~~~~~~~

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five

and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to 'Honor thy father and thy mother,' she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?'

Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~
At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human
beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.
Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and she said, 'Johnny, what is the matter?'
Little Johnny responded, 'I have pain in my side.. I think I'm going to have a wife.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the devil. One said to the other, 'What do you think about all this Satan stuff?'

The other boy replied, 'Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out. It's probably just your Dad.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~
You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop
laughing! Take heed and pass these along to people who need a laugh.
Media Industry in India
Indian Funny Media
“Paid News”
"Corruption in the Indian media"
I'l be 20 this October.. but I still dont understand Indian Media.And according to me they don't understand there role in society  :p
This is Breaking news. OH God!
News reports that are printed in publications or broadcast on television channels are meant to provide information that is not only of interest to the public at large but information that is supposed to be truthful or factually correct and at the same time, balanced, objective, fair and neutral.
I think they are more concerned about there TRP's
Here, more important is commissioner's dog not the kidnapped children
Corruption in the mass media in India  is as old as the media itself.If there is corruption in society, it would be unrealistic to expect the media to be free of corruption. India is the world’s largest democracy. A diverse mass media is an important pillar of democracy in this country.A widespread problem is the attempt to influence public debate through the purchase of advertising space and the purchase of favourable editorial comment.
I am just writing what i am feeling.Media is interested in their own interests rather than really giving facts to public !!!!!
I think newspapers and television channels receive funds for publishing or broadcasting information in favour of particular individuals, corporate entities, representatives of political parties and candidates contesting elections, that is sought to be disguised as “NEWS”.
So every time you are reading a news paper, beware, that is what the news group want to happen, but not what is good for people.
Every time you are watching a news bulletin , they might be aiming at publicity instead of bringing the facts before you !!
