INR 32: Life of an Indian?

Poverty is the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or money. The supply of basic needs can be restricted by constraints on government services such as corruption.

Poor? Not if you spend more than 32 INR: Planning Commission. The Planning Commission seem to have redefined the term 'poor' in India. Hats off to planning commission of India- No Poor, No Poverty. No Problem,Simple solution.

I think it is possible to spend just Rs 32 a day and not starve. And that Place is only in DREAMS of poor person. The wise men and women of the Planning Commission had told the Supreme Court that that anybody who spends Rs 33 or more a day in cities is not poor and hence not eligible for a Below Povert Line (BPL) card, which lets the poor avail services like medical care for free.

Planning commission told the supreme court that the below poverty line for the country could be placed at 32 Rs per day. This is what they see all day in there canteen where they can buy any food item for less than 5 Rs. But the poor of India don' get the subsidized canteen or shop. This Data is too irrational, ridiculous and outrageous. Statistics is necessary for the planning and policy formulation. This is mockery of poverty. If we go with this data, even the beggars are not entitled to get Below Poverty Line Card. Lets give a member of Planning Commission 32 Rs then see what they can do.

India is really one of the wealthiest country. But the policy and economy system of  the country needs major changes. We need a poverty line. But a fair and true data so that we can compare the data with previous year results and to allocate resources among'st  different states.Planning commission should identify the rich not the poor.Government don't have a food factory. They should support the poor farmers. Many of the Indian populations is still engaged in Agriculture. Government of India should take necessary steps to make Agriculture a profitable enterprise.

Relying on the Poverty estimates of the planning commission will not resolve the problem in any manner. There is utter confusion on this subject. Planning Commission should file a fresh affidavit which should look practical.
That' all for now. Please leave your valuable feedback and suggestions.

  5. India's Poverty rate is dropping very fast.Earlier it was very bad due to impact of British rule in India between 1858 and 1947.Once India was known as the 'sone ke chidiya ' (the golden bird). But now with various welfare schemes by government of India for the poor people we are able to tackle problem of poverty.
