Sales Dip : Discounts Rise

In India, no one is buying cars anymore.Global slowdown has finally hit car manufacturers in India, forcing them to go for high discounts strategy to boost sales and reduce inventory.
It is like a repeat of what we witnessed in the second half of 2008 when the global crisis hit. And discount game is not limited to less popular cars.Bestsellers such as Maruti's SX4, WagonR and hyundai  i10 are hitting new low in sales price last month.

The sales slowdown has spared no one.Diesel vehicles and luxury car companies are feeling the heat, perhaps for  the first time in India.

  • Number of Unsold Petrol cars as of May 2012-          193,100
  • Number of Unsold Diesel cars as of May 2012-          107,800
  • Car Sales growth in May 2012 slowest in 7 months -   2.8%

Bargain hard and smart and the dealer would sweeten the deal even more. Excess stock is always a boon for consumers. If you have benn dreaming cars, wake up.This may be the best time to buy.
